A1, A2 and V1 Assessors and Verifiers Awards

The A1 Award is a level 3 award in assessing candidates using a range of methods including observation.

The A2 Award is a level 3 award in assessing candidates performance through observation only

The V1 Award is a level 4 award in conducting internal quality assurance of the assessment process.

Entry Requirements

You will need to be qualified and experienced in child development and education to a level 3.

You will need to be working with or have access to a minimum of two NVQ candidates working towards either;

• NVQ Children’s Care Learning and Development level 2 or 3
• NVQ Teaching Assistant level 2 or 3
• NVQ Playwork level 2 or 3

(It may be possible to arrange for candidates through First Avenue Training).

The course consists of an individual or group taught session to get you started then several hours of one-one support and observation.

There is no exam however you will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence showing your competency, knowledge and understanding of the subject. This will include results of your practice in assessing or verifying.
