Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship

Overview of the role

Highly trained professionals who play a key role in ensuring that young children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.

The Level 3 Early Years Educator (EYE) Apprenticeship is perfect for someone looking for a career as an Early Years Educator, Nursery Nurse, or Child Minder. It is suitable for either someone already working in or someone looking for a career in, an early years childcare and education setting.

 

What is required for the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship?

In order to move through the gateway to End Point Assessment for your apprenticeship you must first complete the following elements.

 

  1. English – Functional Skills level 2 or GCSE C/4 or above if under the age of 19
  2. Maths – Functional skills level 2 or GCSE C/4 or above if under the age of 19
  3. Paediatric First Aid
  4. Meet the requirements for knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
  5. Employer statement (see below)
  6. Portfolio of evidence for the Professional Discussion (including CPD log, Employer Observations and Employer Review)
  7. Meet a minimum off the job hours.

 

Employer Statement

The End Point Assessment can only start once the employer is satisfied that the apprentice is consistently working at or above the level set out in the occupational standard, the employer may take advice from the apprentice’s training provider, but the decision must ultimately be made solely by the employer.

End Point Assessment is then carried out by an independent assessor and will consist of;

    1. A professional discussion based on a portfolio of evidence
    2. An observation of practice
